Unisex WC installation at Willow Primary School, Merseyside.

Site

Willow Tree Primary School is part of the Vantage Academy Trust and is situated in Huyton, St. Helens, Merseyside.

Project Scope:

The project was the creation of a unisex WC facility to be achieved by upgrading and refurbishing the separate boys/girls WCs, including cubicles, sanitary ware and ventilation. The project also included new flooring and wall & ceiling finishes.

Contract Arrangements:

Our client for this project was Lancaster Maloney; we were awarded the contract as Principal Contractor based on price and reputation.

Project Challenges:

The project planning had to enable the work to be completed within six weeks when the school was closed for summer.
The Meel Group supplied an experienced Site Manager who was responsible for overseeing the M&E project.

As the existing facilities were stripped back, the process revealed unforeseen issues with the room’s structure. Our project manager solved the problems and kept the project on its schedule. He also managed the sub-contractors.
