Great Moor Primary School – Full Rewire
Site:
A large primary school in Stockport, comprising both Victorian and more recent buildings.
Contract Arrangements:
We were awarded the tender by Star Procurement based on our competitive pricing, social value, exemplary quality control standards, environmental management, and health and safety excellence. We’ve been an approved contractor on the Star Procurement framework since 2015.
Project Challenges:
The global pandemic and national lockdown created an unprecedented situation for our team. However, we quickly adapted our processes to incorporate rigorous COVID-secure practices and to minimise risk. This resulted in reduced working hours and a reduced workforce whilst the school was occupied. Daily COVID briefings by our site manager ensured that all site colleagues were familiar with the challenging working conditions and environment and the tasks to be undertaken within the scope of the contract. All our engineers on site were enhanced DBS checked, which is always our custom when we work within a live school environment.
The Results:
All work was completed on time, on budget, to a high quality and in line with the project plan. Handover was delivered after the client inspection and training was given in use of the new equipment. The children and staff of Great Moor Primary now have an improved facility with new ceilings and LED lighting installed throughout, giving a well and correctly lit education environment in which they can work and thrive.
