Contract Arrangements:

Rooftop:

The various units had to be lifted into place by crane over a weekend. The rooftop was also to house the rooftop plant room, which contained the Schneider BMS controls.  This room is the heart of the system, controlling and monitoring all of the plant, from both here and the Estates Department.

Rooftop works:

Supplying clean temperature-controlled air and chilled water to the endoscopy unit.

A rooftop BMS plant room controls the units. The rooftop also includes above-ground drainage and lightning protection.

Health & Safety

At the Meel Group, we take Health & Safety very seriously. Working at heights during the internal works, podiums and scaffolds were used in line with the main contractor’s expectations.

Extensive rooftop work, including the use of cranes, was carried out correctly and without incident.

The Results:

The main contractor and Stockport NHS Trust were delighted with the results, and the handover went smoothly. As a result, Stepping Hill Hospital now has a fully refurbished and extended Endoscopy Department in Block 42.

Client feedback:

The Endoscopy Project was challenging due to the existing M&E, phasing and maintaining a live operational Endoscopy Dept.
The Meel Group worked around these challenges ensuring the service was kept live and completed major electrical infrastructure works. The Projects team were always approachable and reactive to the needs of the project and our Trust.
