School Heating Refurbishment – Higher Lane Primary School, Manchester

Higher Lane Primary School is part of the Vantage Academy Trust and is located in Whitefield, Manchester. It is a two-form entry primary school with just under five hundred pupils.
Project Scope:
The school required a heating refurbishment involving new pipework, radiators, making good and boxing-in.
Contract Arrangements:
We were awarded the contract by tender based on price and reputation.
Project Challenges:
The project had a short timescale from July – October during the summer school holiday.
Planning and preparation were vital to achieving completion on time. Excellent communication was essential and maintained throughout the project between our mechanical engineering team and the client-appointed designer.

Health & Safety:
Health & safety is always taken very seriously. Risk assessments and method statements were produced before any work commenced.
Peco lifts were used for working at height during the refurbishment of the school hall.
Results:
The Meel Group were the principal contractor on this project and they delivered the heating refurbishment project on time and within budget. The school and Trust were impressed with the results and that we achieved the project successfully in such a short period.
